Shropshire Wedding Photographer: a poorly bride.
I arrived at Walcot Hall for Joanne and Rueben’s wedding to the news that Joanne had come down with food poisoning overnight - every bride’s worst nightmare. The amazing Lucie Anne (one of Walcot Hall’s wedding co-ordinator) had made a mad dash to the local doctor’s surgery with poor Jo early that morning and by the time I arrived things were definitely looking up, though the atmosphere was a bit more subdued than most weddings!

Joanne and Rueben had decided to honour their love of music and festivals by going for a festival themed wedding. Between them they had turned the sunken lawn at Walcot Hall into a fun filled festival wedding, with flags, bunting, hand painted signage and an outdoor stage for the band to play on.
There really was a fun atmosphere to this wedding - Rueben and his boys played up to their reputations by walking down the aisle to “Bad Boys”, but things turned much more emotional with the sunny arrival of Joanne. The couple said their vows in an intimate outdoor wedding in front of the fountain at Walcot Hall, encircled by their friends and family who were sat in the round on hay bales.
Guests enjoyed an alfresco buffet provided by Roslin Catering, and luckily after a bit of food and drink Joanne felt strong enough to go for a gentle walk around the grounds so that we could get some photos of her and Rueben together.
The festival wedding atmosphere got stronger with the arrival of a britpop/indie cover band, The Fraudsters, and pretty soon it seemed like any memory of Joanne’s illness had faded as she danced the night away (and even took part in some pretty energetic space hopper races)!
