Cornwall wedding photographer in Shropshire: Kayleigh and James' boho wedding at Walcot Hall

Cornwall wedding photographer in Shropshire

I’d been looking forward to Kayleigh and James’ wedding since they booked me, and the excitement had only increased since they proved themselves to be incredibly photogenic in their beautiful golden hour engagement shoot on a beach in Wales.

Weekday wedding photography

For their venue they chose Walcot Hall and its smorgasbord of amazing accommodation options, in part because they wanted to stretch the celebrations out for an entire week, with the wedding itself being on a Wednesday. I couldn’t quite believe they’d managed to persuade nearly all of their friends and family to take a weeks holiday at the same time, but I’ve since come to conclusion that if you want to pull this off you A. need a lot of self employed, location flexible friends, or B. need to be so bloomin’ lovely that those who have a 9-5 don’t think twice about using a week of annual leave for your wedding.

Kayleigh and James struck lucky when it came to the weather, and were able to have their ceremony outside under a beautiful floral arch. The ceremony was conducted by one of James’ best friends, and a more dapper celebrant would be hard to find. Kayleigh was walked down the aisle and given away by her mum, which gets a big fat YES from me – go mums!

Smoke bomb wedding photography

We’d had a good play with some smoke bombs at the beach for their engagement shoot, and it was so much fun that Kayleigh and James were keen to use them again in the woodlands at Walcot Hall. Woodland wedding photography is always a favourite of mine, but adding smoke bombs took it to a whole new level. We used Enola Gaye smoke bombs, which worked really well and didn’t cause any staining (a common problem with smoke bombs).
